THE CORRIGAN COMMONS
A Gathering Place
Head’s Message by Dr. Jenn Milam
When we began thinking about a fundraising event last fall, we heard from many of our community members and families that they wanted an event that was more focused on connecting parents with each other, felt more accessible, and was focused on improving the lived experiences of the students in our hallways each and every day. Out of this brainstorming, Boots & BINGO was born!
In the last several weeks, you’ve likely noted that Boots & BINGO is different from a traditional gala. For one, we’re going western chic for a more fun and informal vibe (no uncomfy suits needed!). We’ll be playing five games of BINGO, which I expect to be wildly competitive and maybe even a little rowdy, with Mr. Ames and Mr. Dios as our dynamic duo of BINGO callers. Each game has a prize basket, too! We made the decision to focus on memory-making experiences with our amazing faculty and staff for our silent auction with just a few items or adult experiences included for good measure! All in all, there’s a little something for everyone - we hope you find an experience you can’t live without for yourself or someone you love!
Today I write to you, our amazing community, to introduce this year’s paddle raise project. Our project was selected for its impact across grade levels and divisions, while keeping in mind our wish to enrich the connections and engagement we’ve begun this year with meetings, after school programming, and events on campus. In collaboration with members of our PTO and the leadership team, we will take our current dining space and refresh and rebrand it to…The CORRIGAN COMMONS! With new flooring, paint, and new serving lines, we will offer a more self-serve dining experience with fresh foods and more options! New seating will offer more flexibility in the space with both traditional dining hall seating and the addition of some banquets along the wall. We’ll top all of this off with some new lighting and some great pieces of artwork to give it a warm, casual café feel.
To make this dream a reality, we need YOU! Our goal is to raise $75,000 during the paddle raise at Boots & BINGO and no gift is too small. If you’re not able to attend our event on Saturday, you can give to this special effort by donating in the Boots & BINGO portal by clicking on the PADDLE RAISE icon. If you’re at the event, I’d be overjoyed to have you raise your paddle and offer your generous support.
Your gift to The CORRIGAN COMMONS supports our ability to offer our students the best opportunity each day to connect with one another over breakfast and lunch, enriches our campus facilities, and provides a beautifully flexible space for our amazing school where we can joyfully gather together for many more years to come!
