Homecoming is November 10-14 and it is extra special this year since we are also celebrating our 50th anniversary! We have several fun activities planned so please bookmark this page to keep up with all the announcements.
STUDENT INFORMATION
📅Spirit Week Themes
During the week of November 10-14, students can participate in spirit week theme days! The themes for spirit week are as follows:
- Monday - 🌴 Beach Day
- Tuesday - 1️⃣ Onesie Day
- Wednesday - 😎 Wacky Tacky
- Thursday - 💾 Throwback
- Friday - 🦅 Spirit Day (Winston shirts & mums)
Throughout the week different sports teams will be assisting with carpool and will be raising money for athletics through a special Homecoming Pie-in-the-Face contest. Vote with dollars to see which Winston faculty/staff member will get a pie in the face during the half-time of the Homecoming game. Contenders are Chris Ames, Genie Frasier, Ross Thomson, Lindsay Bock, Isabelle Hernandez and Juan Cabrera.
Please note that the same guidelines for Halloween costumes will apply for spirit week, so make sure all outfits are the appropriate length and don't involve masks or weapons, etc.
💮Homecoming Mums
Mums are now on sale for Lower through Upper School students. Students may wear their mums on Friday, November 14 for Spirit Day and to the Homecoming game. Mum orders must be received by November 7, 2025. Mums will be available for pick up from the School on November 12. Questions about mums should be directed to Tery Sandy at the Mum Shop (214-796-1992, [email protected]).
📣Pep-Rally
Monday, November 10 from 10:15 - 10:55 a.m.
During the pep rally, there will be games with prizes and a time for us to spotlight the Winston's fall and winter sports teams. Parents are welcome to attend the pep-rally. Please remember to wear your parent badge, otherwise, you will be required to check-in at the front office.
Faculty will have noise reducing headphones available for any students who are sensitive to loud noises. Mrs. McKinney will also be available at a designated location outside of the gym for those who may not want to participate due sensory concerns.
🍔Homecoming Community Cookout
Friday, November 14 from 5-7 p.m.
For just $6 per person, enjoy a classic cookout meal featuring burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, chips, water, and dessert. It’s a great way to relax, connect and celebrate together! Please purchase meal tickets by Monday, November 10 so that we can order the correct amount of food.
Winston alumni will enjoy a comped meal on us! Please contact [email protected] to receive a special coupon code.
🏀Homecoming Basketball Game
Friday, November 14 at 6 p.m.
The Homecoming basketball game will take place at 6 p.m. in the Winston Gym! Admission to the game is free for Winston students, faculty, families, and alumni!
Parents, please wear your badge which will serve as your ticket to the game.
The Homecoming Court ceremony will immediately follow the game in the gym.
💃🏽🕺🏽Upper School Homecoming Dance
Friday, November 14 from 8:15 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
The Upper School Homecoming Dance will be on Friday, Nov. 14 following the basketball game until 10:15 p.m. There will be food, music, and more! Upper School students can purchase tickets from Mrs. LaVecchia for $15/person or $25/couple. If a student wants to bring a non-Winston High School student guest, they must ask Mrs. LaVecchia for a guest form and provide it to Mr. Ames for approval by the end of morning community time on Wednesday, November 12. The Homecoming Dance is chaperoned by Winston faculty and staff.
ALUMNI INFORMATION
🥓Alumni Homecoming Breakfast
Tuesday, November 11 from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m.
We’re excited to welcome back our alumni, including former faculty and staff, for an Alumni Breakfast from 8:00–9:00 a.m. Catch up with old friends over coffee and a bite to eat, then stick around for a campus tour beginning at 9:00 to see what’s new at Winston! Please RSVP by November 4 via the link below.
🥂Alumni Homecoming Happy Hour
Friday, November 14 from 4:00 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Alumni are invited to gather together before the big basketball game to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate being part of the Winston family and the 50th Anniversary of The Winston School. Enjoy light appetizers and a drink on us at Renny's Stache Speakeasy (11661 Preson Rd #153, Dallas, TX 75230)!

Following the reception, the group will head to the Winston gym to show your support of the Varsity Boy’s Basketball team at the Homecoming Game.
