HOMECOMING MUMS
Mum sales closed on Monday, November 4. If you purchased a mum for your student they will receive them before the end of school on Thursday, November 7 so they can wear them on Friday, November 8 for our Winston Spirit Day!
SPIRIT WEEK
During the week of November 4 - November 8, students can participate in spirit week theme days! These days are voted on by our Upper School Students. The themes for spirit week are as follows:
- Monday - Cowboys vs Aliens
- Tuesday - Senior Citizen Day
- Wednesday - Superheroes vs Villains
- Thursday - Album Cover
- Friday - Spirit Day (Homecoming T-Shirt) & Mums
Please note that the same guidelines for Halloween costumes will apply for spirit week, so make sure all outfits are the appropriate length, don't involve coverage masks or weapons, etc.
PEP-RALLY
Friday, November 8 from 10:10 - 10:50 a.m.
During the pep rally, there will be games with prizes and a time for us to spotlight the Winston's winter sports teams. Parents are welcome to attend the pep-rally. Please remember to wear your parent badge, otherwise, you will be required to check-in at the front office.
Faculty will have noise reducing headphones available for any students who are sensitive to loud noises.
ALUMNI HOMECOMING RECEPTION
Friday, November 8 from 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Winston Alumni and their families are invited to a Homecoming Reception from 4:30 - 6 p.m. in the Winston Center for the Arts. During the reception, you’ll have the opportunity to mix and mingle with other alumni and tour campus with Mr. Cornell and see what’s changed since you walked the halls as a former student, staff, or faculty member.
Following the reception, the group will head to the Winston Gym to show your support of the Varsity Boy’s Basketball team at the Homecoming Game. Alumni and their family will receive free entry along with a complimentary snack and beverage item for each guest! RSVP for the reception by emailing [email protected]!
HOMECOMING GAME
Friday, November 8 at 6 p.m.
The Homecoming basketball game will take place at 6 p.m. in the Winston Gym! BBQ, burgers, and other delicious hot items, and general concessions will be available for purchase. The grilling will begin at 5 p.m. that afternoon! Admission to the game is free for Winston students, faculty, and families!
The Homecoming Court ceremony will immediately follow the game in the gym.
UPPER SCHOOL HOMECOMING DANCE
Friday, November 8 from 8:15 p.m. - 10:15 p.m.
The Upper School Homecoming Dance will be on Friday, Nov. 8 following the basketball game (approximately 7:30) until 10 p.m. There will be food, music, and more! Upper School students can purchase tickets from Mrs. LaVecchia for $15/person or $25/couple. If a student wants to bring a non-Winston High School student guest, they must ask Mrs. LaVecchia for a guest form and provide it to Mr. Ames for approval by the end of morning community time on Wednesday, November 5.
