Evaluation Services

At Winston, we offer the following evaluations:

  • Full Psychological Testing Battery
  • Full Psychoeducational Testing Battery (age 5 to 15)
  • Extended Psychoeducational Test Battery (age 16+)
  • Early Childhood Evaluation (age 3 to 5)

**A $300 testing deposit is due when your appointment is made. The remaining balance is paid on the appointment date. We accept checks, Visa, MC, Amex, and Discover.

Additional Consultation/Conference Fee of $150 per hour for anything beyond what is described for each battery, which may include, additional feedback conference, participation in school meetings, classroom observations, or further testing and/or documentation/correspondence.

Full Psychological Test Battery

The Full Psychological Test Battery is a comprehensive evaluation which assesses cognitive abilities (also known as IQ or Intelligence), academic levels in the areas of reading, writing, math, and language. Additionally, based on the concerns presented when scheduling the evaluation, the assessment will include a thorough investigation of complicating variables in the areas of attention and concentration, as well as social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Concerns regarding the investigation and possible identification of autism, anxiety, and depression require the full psychological test battery. The evaluation will include:

  • Adult Client/Parent input via surveys, questionnaires, and verbal input
  • Teacher input via surveys and questionnaires, when possible
  • Standardized assessment in the areas of intelligence, academic achievement, executive functioning, and personality
  • Depending on the assessment question and examiner discretion, standardized assessment in the areas of social, emotional, and behavioral functioning
  • An interpretive conference, held approximately two weeks later
  • A written professional report inclusive of diagnostic identifications, if applicable
  • Recommendations based on evaluation results
  • Guidance in planning for appropriate educational placement for you or your child.
  • Testing takes approximately 8-12 hours and can be completed in one day, but may be completed in two sessions.
  • The cost for the Full Psychological Test Battery is $2,100.00.

Full Psychoeducational Test Battery

The Full Psychoeducational Test Battery is a comprehensive evaluation which assesses cognitive abilities (also known as IQ or Intelligence) and academic levels in the areas of reading, writing, math, and language. Additionally, your child will be screened for complicating variables in the areas of attention and concentration, as well as basic social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. The evaluation will include:

  • Parent input via surveys, questionnaires, and verbal input
  • Teacher input via surveys and questionnaires, when possible
  • Standardized assessment in the areas of intelligence, academic achievement, and executive functioning
  • An interpretive conference, held approximately two weeks later
  • A written professional report inclusive of diagnostic identifications, if applicable
  • Recommendations based on evaluation results
  • Guidance in planning for appropriate educational placement for your child.
  • Testing takes approximately 5-6 hours and is typically completed in one day, but may be completed in two sessions.
  • The cost for the Full Psychoeducational Test Battery is $1,350.00.

Extended Psychoeducational Test Battery

The Extended Psychoeducational Test Battery is designed for individuals over the age of 16, particularly those individuals who are planning for college, or a return to school. This comprehensive evaluation includes assessment of cognitive abilities (also known as IQ or Intelligence) and academic levels in the areas of reading, writing, math, and language. Additionally, this battery screens for complicating variables in the areas of attention and concentration, as well as basic social, emotional, and behavioral functioning.The extended evaluation will include:

  • Parent/Adult client input via surveys, questionnaires, and verbal input
  • Teacher input via surveys and questionnaires, when possible
  • Standardized assessment in the areas of intelligence, academic achievement, and executive functioning
  • An interpretive conference, held approximately two weeks later
  • A written professional report inclusive of diagnostic identifications, if applicable
  • Recommendations based on evaluation results
  • Guidance in planning for appropriate educational placement for you or your child
  • Specific testing to meet SAT/ACT requirements for accommodations, including extended time
  • Testing and documentation to meet University requirements for entrance into disability programs (AHEAD guidelines)
  • Testing takes approximately 7-10 hours and can be completed in one or two days
  • The cost for the Extended Psychoeducational Test Battery is $1,650.00.

Early Childhood Evaluation

What academic placement is your child ready for? Is it Pre-K, Kindergarten, Primer, or First Grade? What educational environment best suits your child’s learning style? The Early Childhood Evaluation (ECE) is designed to help you choose the appropriate placement for your child. This battery of standardized tests will help you understand how your child performs when compared to peers his or her age, and aid you in making informed decisions about your child’s readiness for school and school placement. With the ECE, the following areas will be explored and evaluated:

 

  • Cognitive ability (also known as IQ or Intelligence)
  • Pre-reading or reading skills, including phonemic awareness
  • Mathematic skills and knowledge of math concepts
  • Early writing skills, including pencil grasp and visual motor
  • Language, including listening and speaking skills
  • The ECE lasts approximately 2 hours and is typically completed in one day.
  • The cost for the Early Childhood Evaluation is $950.00.
