This intervention program is an excellent opportunity to combat summer slide while working to close learning gaps and reinforce previous math concepts. It is open to Winston students and those in the community.

  • Focused on a visual and sensory approach, our small group (1 to 3) and one-on-one program utilizes the On Cloud Nine® math program which uses sensory tools to visualize, manipulate, and verbalize numerals, and their relationship to concrete experiences, from imagery to computation.
  • Students who previously participated saw significant growth in their math abilities because the curriculum made math concepts more tangible and accessible.
    • Dates: June 20-July 27 (Tuesday-Thursday of each week)
    • Times: 50-minute sessions running from 9 AM to 3 PM
    • Instructor: Constance Condie, Winston faculty
    • $1,600 for 3 sessions per week for six weeks
    • $1,065 for 2 sessions per week for six weeks

Since 1980, Steve & Kate's Camp has put kids in charge of their own learning experience.

  • Kids try, fail, and learn on their own. They learn to trust their own judgment, and tackle the challenges of an ever changing world with creativity and confidence.
  • Campers choose minute to minute from a variety of activities including, sewing, stop-motion animation, music, performing arts, makers crafts, bread making, and more.
  • They'll decide what they want to do, and for how long–developing confidence and learning to trust their judgment along the way.
