Summer Science

Grades PreK-7

The Winston School will be hosting with Club SciKidz for 3 weeks of summer fun! 

June 17 -July 12

Monday-Friday    9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

$295 per week

We believe that every child is a scientist and that we can make children even better scientists! Club SciKidz’s 2019 Summer Camp season will offer 24 summer day camp themes. We certainly have something for everyone!

All of our hands-on National Science Standard activities make science challenging and fun! Our camp Directors are highly trained, certified teachers and are assisted by currently enrolled college students that have been trained by Club SciKidz.

Take Flight Reading Program

Grades K-8
The Winston School utilizes a comprehensive intervention program for students with Dyslexia called Take Flight.  It is an Orton-Gillingham based curriculum written by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.  Take Flight employs structured, sequenced and systematic literacy instruction, which teaches reading and spelling with a strong emphasis on phonemic awareness and alphabetic code knowledge. 

June 18 -August 1

The Take Flight program will be available (3 days a week) on the Winston campus for the very first time this summer. 

One hour session between 9 a.m – 3 p.m. every Tuesday-Thursday

Credit Courses

Grades 9-12

The Winston School is accredited by the Independent Association of the Southwest.  Our courses cover the essential elements required by the Texas Education Association. Because each class must cover TEA  required elements that are typically covered during an entire school year, students should give careful consideration to the time and curriculum before enrolling.  Courses are selected for the Upper School summer program based on student need.  The following courses are frequently available:  English Speech, Health, History (all classes), Spanish, Biology, and  Chemistry.
