Why Give?
The Winston School is grateful to all its donors. Each gift makes a difference in the lives of our students. There are many opportunities to make a charitable contribution to The Winston School. Winston accepts checks, credit cards, as well as gifts of stocks and securities.

Arts Center: The Winston School Performing Arts Building will become the signature building on campus, prominently facing south on Royal Lane. It will include a 256-seat traditional proscenium-arch theater, “black box” theater, scene shop, large art gallery, and two smaller galleries. North of the Performing Arts Building will be the Visual Arts Building, including a sculpture garden and outdoor amphitheater. The mix of art galleries in the Performing Arts Building; and the additional classroom space in the Visual Arts Building will celebrate the School’s commitment to its comprehensive arts program, recognizing the importance and benefit of blending the arts.

Scholarships: Scholarship donations help the many students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Winston. 23% of our students receive scholarships, but additional funds are required to meet the growing need of the many children who could benefit from a Winston education, but cannot afford to attend.

Endowment: Gifts to the Endowment Fund enable Winston to provide scholarships, ensure low student-teacher ratio, offer competitive salaries and benefits to faculty, and maintain stability during economic downturns.

Library: Gifts to the library build the collection. Gifts can be made in honor or in memory of a loved one, faculty member, or student. A name plate bears the name of the donor and honoree.

Gifts to Winston Science provide scholarships for science students, and the supplies for thousands of children to participate in this statewide competition.
Gifts to the Solar Program enable the team to build their next "greatest" solar car, and provides opportunities to specialized learning at UTD, SMU, and Eastfield Colleges.

Sturrock Fund: The Sturrock Memorial Fund was established in loving memory of Oliver H. Sturrock and his wife, Marilyn Sturrock, parents of Dr. Mary Ann Morris, The Winston School's Director of Diagnostics. The fund provides students qualifying for scholarships with additional support for school expenses other than tuitions.

Estate Planning: Including The Winston School in your will is an effective way to make a gift that might not be possible during your lifetime. A bequest is a gift made through a donor's will and is the simplest and most common form of planned gift. Other planned gifts include life insurance policies and annuities, for example.
